Chemstations Joins RAPID Manufacturing Institute as a Founder’s Circle Member
HOUSTON, TX (June 30, 2017) - Chemstations is proud of our long history of contributing to AIChE, through both financial sponsorship and employee participation, since the company’s founding in 1988. Participating in the RAPID Manufacturing Institute is a logical expansion of that effort. Chemstations President Steve Brown said, “We are proud to be a part of RAPID because we believe in supporting efforts at the forefront of the future of chemical engineering.”
Innovations in process intensification will need advanced simulation tools to enable comparison of design choices. The CHEMCAD software’s ease of use and robust dynamic simulation capabilities make it well suited to handle the modeling challenges that are foreseen for the RAPID projects. Improvements to CHEMCAD are driven by user feedback, and we look forward to incorporating feedback from the RAPID teams as part of the continual development of CHEMCAD.

About RAPID
On December 9, 2016, the U.S. Department of Energy announced the establishment of the 10th Manufacturing USA Institute, the Rapid Advancement in Process Intensification Deployment (RAPID) Institute. Leveraging $70 million in federal funding and more than $70 million in cost-share commitments from partners, RAPID is focused on developing breakthrough process-related technologies to boost energy productivity and energy efficiency by 20 percent in five years. RAPID will leverage approaches to process intensification and modular process design used in a variety of energy-intensive industries. In the chemical industry alone, these technologies have the potential to save more than $9 billion annually. For further information, visit www.aiche.org/rapid.
